Balloting on the approval of revisions to ASC Z136 Procedures as detailed below closed end-of-business Monday, November 9, 2009. Both ballots have been approved; results are as follows...

Item 1 – Patent Policy clarification, as mandated by ANSI Essential Requirements
Total eligible votes available: 63
Total eligible votes received: 51 (81% returned)
Affirmative: 50
Negative: 0
Abstain: 1

Item 2 – Actions that require approval by 2/3, clarification of percentage of return votes and addition of subcommittee interpretation to the actions list
Total eligible votes available: 63
Total eligible votes received: 49 (78% returned)
Affirmative: 46
Negative: 2
Abstain: 1

Note that the two negative votes received on Item 2 did not include reasons/comments and are formally recorded as “negative without comments”. As such, the votes “shall not be factored into the numerical requirements for consensus” per ANSI Essential Requirements. It is not required to conduct a recirculation ballot of the negative votes.
