The second default recirculation ballot to correct the error made to the previous resolutions of the revision of the Z136.4 Recommended Practice for Laser Safety Measurements for Hazard Evaluation closed January 8, 2010; the third public review of this same document will close January 24, 2010. To date we have not received any comments from public review.
As you know, if a member of the balloting group does not plan to change his/her vote on a default recirculation ballot, it is not necessary to return the ballot. In this case, the vote will be counted as in the original ballot. This applies to both affirmative and negative votes.
Of the responses received, the original negative vote has changed to affirmative. In addition, over the course of the recirculation ballots two additional votes were received. The final ballot summary is as follows:
Ballots originally returned: 28 of 35 = 80% return rate
Total ballots returned after recirculation ballots: 30 of 35 = 86% return rate
Abstentions: 1
Affirmative: 29 of 29 (returned less abstentions) = 100%
